I’m not a big fan of sports analogies, but this article in the New Yorker by Malcolm Gladwell tells the story of a young girls basketball team (by young, I mean 12) and their foreign, analytical coach - an outsider to the game - who took them to the Junior National tournament by having them play the full-court press all the time.

By applying effort over ability, these girls defeated team after team of more gifted players - that is until the establishment decided enough was enough.

Anyone who has tried to improve or change something within the “established rules of the game” only to be shut down, will appreciate the insight into both the David and Goliath way of thinking, seeing, and acting.
